Zarul has over 27 years of experience in the cybersecurity industry, both in Malaysia and internationally.  He has contributed to technical development and cybersecurity advisory to a range of government-led flagship applications and initiatives. Currently, Zarul oversees all PETRONAS cybersecurity initiatives and strategic efforts, contributing to the shaping of the PETRONAS cybersecurity journey through the energy transition paradigm and the adoption of new technologies in response to a dynamic threat landscape.  Zarul is a key stakeholder behind PETRONAS’ strategic imperatives on Zero Trust, Secure-by-Design, Artificial Intelligence, and Supply Chain Risk; as well as a core team member and contributor to PETRONAS’ Cyber Resilience efforts.
