Aasef is the Senior Director of Product Management and the cybersecurity subject matter expert for operational technology (OT) at Fortinet. With over a decade of experience, Aasef specializes in addressing cybersecurity challenges related to industrial automation and control systems (IACS/ICS) and operational technology. His expertise spans from cybersecurity architecture, risk management, penetration testing, assurance, and compliance across various critical infrastructure (CI) sectors including energy, water, communications, and critical manufacturing.

At Fortinet, Aasef collaborates closely with research and development teams to advance OT security solutions, seamlessly integrating OT security into broader cybersecurity strategies, bridging IT and OT security to ensure robust protection for critical infrastructure and operational continuity. His thought leadership extends beyond Fortinet, where he frequently participates in industry forums, webinars, and advisory groups.

Aasef holds a master’s degree and numerous technical certifications, including CISSP and CISM, as well as the ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Expert certification. He is also certified in GICSP and GRID, the ICS cybersecurity programs from the SANS Institute
